The Akola Urban Co-op. Bank Ltd. Akola (Multi-state Schedule Bank)
Bank has contributed an amount of Rs. 16.00 lacs for establishment of Dr Hedgewar Blood Bank of Akola. This blood bank is one of the best blood banks of Akola and the first blood bank to get accredition of NABH in India which is run by a charitable organisation. Bank's Employees Sewa Samiti has also donated an ambulance for efficient working of this blood bank.
Bank has contributed an amount of Rs 6.50 lacs for development of Adarsha Goseva(welfare of cows) & Research project at Mhaispur in Akola district. The project has been recognised as model goshala by World Ayurvedic Council of New Delhi. Bank has also provided 50 tree guards for environmental protection in the surrounding of the centre.
Bank has contributed an amount of Rs.17.00 lacs for construction of a Shirpur pattern weir (mini dam) in Jatwada village in Aurangabad district to Rashtradharm Sanskar Probodhini, a residential school of Jatwada village to solve acute crisis of water in the village that too in drought conditions prevailing in the region.
